Spectral Engines is an international tech company specializing in the development and production of electronics and sensor systems for spectral measurement technology. In close cooperation with our customers, we develop and manufacture high-end spectroscopy systems and components for a wide range of applications. We use them, for example, in the authenticity testing of pharmaceuticals, clothing and in environmental technology. We are also indispensable in the growth market of narcotics.

You will be part of a growing, international team of more than 30 in-house employees and external service providers.
Our office is located in Steinbach in the immediate vicinity of Frankfurt am Main. You can work with us here or from anywhere in Germany.

Senior Backend Software Developer (m|w|d)

Start: as of now                                  Duration: unlimited                        Location: Steinbach and remote in Germany

Your tasks in this role:

• You plan, code and test new functions of our backend systems as part of our development team

• You will improve the existing software solutions and contribute to designing the products for new markets and applications and keeping them up to date

• You work with our team of product owners, IT architects, backend and frontend developers and DevOps to plan new features

• You exchange ideas with hardware developers, data scientists and business colleagues for the best possible projects and products

• You document your work and assist in writing user-oriented documentation for created featuresWriting and reviewing code as part of our development team

You are:

• independent, goal-oriented with a passion for learning and innovative technologies

• collaborative by nature, a good communicator, creative and assertive

• analytical and critical, think on your feet and love to tackle challenging problems

• open and not afraid to ask if you need help or something is not working

This is what you bring in:

• Completed studies in computer science, training as a software engineer or comparable, at least 3 years of professional experience

• Good knowledge of Python, Git, GitHub, Docker and test software

• Experience in Python development under AWS

• Experience in Jenkins, Ansible, Kubernetes and FastAPI is an advantage

• Experience in software architecture and/or analytics and/or data science is an advantage

• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines

• Results-oriented with strong attention to detail and technical problem solving skills

• Fluency in written and spoken English and German, any other language is an advantage
